Battle Lake, MN – A truck was deemed a total loss after it caught fire in rural Battle Lake on Monday (June 30th).
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and the Battle Lake Fire Department responded to a report of a pickup on fire at a home near Amor Park at about 12:45 p.m. Deputies say the pickup driver was having issues with their brakes, so they turned into their driveway and the pickup was quickly engulfed in flames.
Deputies say an off-duty firefighter was passing by and helped the owner unload an ATV and detach a trailer to help prevent further damage. While the truck is considered a total loss, there was no apparent damage to the home or other structures, and no one was injured.
