Just before 10 Wednesday night, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department along with the Fergus Falls and Underwood Fire Departments, responded to a shed fire on Highland Trail.

Upon arrival, authorities found a 20 x 60 foot aluminum shed engulfed in flames.  In speaking with family present at the time the fire started, it was said that two family members were inside the shop working on the fuel tank of a 1996 Honda Accord.

At some point a significant amount of fuel spilled onto the shop floor and ignited underneath the car.  The source of the ignition is unknown.

Both parties escaped the shop without injury.

Destroyed in the fire was the shop itself which contained the Accord, a dirt bike, welding equipment, and various tools.  Also adjacent to the shop, a goose neck-style camper was destroyed, and a fishing boat that also sustained damage.

The Fergus Falls Fire Department is investigating.
