(Chanhassen, MN) — The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for 38 of Minnesota’s 87 counties beginning at noon today (Monday).
The warning will remain in effect until 1:00 a-m Tuesday. Meteorologists say strong winds gusting up to 40-to-50 miles-an-hour and low relative humidity will create an extreme fire risk. A Red Flag Warning means critical weather conditions are ideal for a wildfire to spread quickly.
The Minnesota Interagency Fire Center is urging people not to burn during the period and be careful with any potential sources that might cause a spark.
[Local Counties included in the Red Flag Warning are: Becker, Clay, , Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Wadena, Wilkin.]
