There was a huge crowd for the 2021 edition of SummerFest in Fergus Falls this past weekend.
Friday through Sunday, people from all over the area came out to attend this annual event. There was a variety of activities for people of all ages to participate and enjoy, including arts and crafts vendors, food booths, music and more.
“We estimate our attendance between 19,000 and 20,000 this year over the entire event and that is the highest numbers we’ve ever had” said SummerFest Committee Vice President Josh Bolluyt.
Bolluyt added, “The parade on Saturday was unbelievable. The amount of people that turned out for that. I drove my truck for my business and when you turned the corner onto the main road there and could see the amount of people, it was just so exciting and so wonderful to see the community come out like that.”
There were a lot of community members who made this event possible. Mr. Bolluyt wanted to point out and show appreciation to all of the volunteers, city workers, business and groups that were sponsors and others who played a role in making this a successful event. He said, “Thank you to everybody that’s been involved and had a hand in any way.”
Mr. Bolluyt is excited for the future of SummerFest as well, saying, “We hope in years to come, we can continue to just build it and make it better and better each year.”
