Groundbreaking Ceremony For New Law Enforcement Memorial of Southeast Minnesota

There’s a groundbreaking ceremony in Rochester this afternoon (Thursday 4 p-m) for the new Law Enforcement Memorial of Southeast Minnesota.

The memorial in Soldiers Field Memorial Park will honor 33 fallen officers from cities, counties, state, federal and military agencies in the Sixth District of the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association.

The ceremony will include music by the Rochester Caledonian Pipe Bank and address by Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson.

The Memorial will feature a wall with etched law enforcement images and a 15-foot pillar with blue light to accent the names of the fallen officers.
