The latest U-S Drought Monitor map shows 75 percent of Minnesota is now in a moderate drought.
Fourteen percent of state is in a severe drought. Southern Minnesota is the driest area in Minnesota and the conditions are affecting crops and river flows are low.
The state is way behind on average precipitation for June and no widespread rainfall is in the short-term forecast.
There are some rain chances this weekend for parts of the state.
