(Fergus Falls, Minn.) – Greater Fergus Falls (GFF) is pleased to announce that Entrepreneur Initiative participant Justine Ricks successfully purchased long-time downtown Fergus Falls business, Salon Eclips located at 109 East Lincoln Ave. The transition of this ownership not only retained a 19-year old business as well as 10 jobs but created the opportunity for at least several new positions in the coming months. Ricks has vacancies for stylists, nail professionals, and massage therapists.
Ms. Ricks had worked as a stylist at the salon for several years but always dreamt of owning her own business. When the opportunity arose, she reached out to GFF through their Entrepreneur Initiative, a free and confidential one-on-one consulting program that assists entrepreneurs with starting or expanding businesses. She was able to work with consultants at her own pace to build business-readiness needed to purchase and run day-to-day operations.
Ricks said, “ I am so happy to be able to carry on the business of Salon Eclips downtown Fergus Falls! I am thankful we are able to continue offering our services to the community and excited to be developing new, fun services in the future!”
Salon Eclips provides a variety of salon services including hair, nails, massage, waxing, tanning, and specialty services like airbrush makeup. Stay connected through Instagram or Facebook @saloneclipsfergusfalls or visit their website at saloneclipsandspa.com.
GFF’s Managing Director NeTia Bauman said, “No two entrepreneurs follow the same pathway to success and our customizable programming continues to foster a variety of entrepreneurial pathways, including transitional ownership. Ricks’ successful transition from employee to owner is indicative of entrepreneurial growth in our community over the past year,” she continued, “We look forward to watching her and her business continue to thrive.”
If you’re considering a start-up, are an early-stage entrepreneur or a long-standing business owner, GFF’s free entrepreneur services are readily available. Both in-person and virtual 1:1 coaching sessions and ongoing training/education opportunities are available at www.greaterfergusfalls.com/entrepreneurs.
