There has been a GoFundMe page set up for James “Jimmy” Noplos of Fergus Falls, who passed away from injuries he received, from allegedly being assaulted last week, while traveling to Illinois to visit family.
According to Bloomington Law Enforcement, they responded to a report of an unconscious male early last Friday morning. Police say it is likely that there was an altercation with Noplos and a suspect named Anthony Gillespie of Bloomington, Illinois. Mr. Noplos, who had lost consciousness, was taken to a hospital in Bloomington and then flown to the Neuro ICU in Peoria. Medical professionals were unable to save his life.
The suspect, Anthony Gillespie 39, of Bloomington, Illinois, has been arrested and charged with several crimes including aggravated battery, great bodily harm and obstructing justice. There could be additional charges in the future.
The GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Noplos family and the money raised will help with the different expenses that have come from this situation.
