Sugar High Bakery Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

By McLovin Sep 18, 2021 | 6:57 AM

Greater Fergus Falls (GFF) is pleased to announce that Sugar High Bakery is planning to celebrate its one-year anniversary with a pop-up event! Owner Emily McCune is celebrating with a pop-up event to commemorate the start of her entrepreneurial journey. Join her on Friday, September 24th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Union Pizza & Brewing Co. for a brief presentation on the benefits of medical cannabis and to shop her selection of caramels, cookies, brownies, gummies, and more.

Last year, McCune started a side business that specializes in locally-sourced baked goods. She started with a pop-up event that sold out within an hour, and knew she was on to something big. Eventually McCune added legally-produced CBD-infused treats to her menu, and her business quickly grew. After only a few months, this side business became a full-time operation! Nearly one year after launching, Sugar High Bakery has increased its monthly gross sales by 1,000%. Both traditional and infused baked goods are available for custom orders and for sale during pop-ups and other special events.

McCune said, “The consistent growth of my business shows me that there is a profound demand for cannabis medicine in our community. We have a REALLY underserved demographic of consumers who are interested in it but think they simply can’t get it – and that is far from the truth,” she continued “I’m just normalizing cannabis medicine while adding a little pizzazz (and palatability!) to its market-availability while supporting our local food economy.”
