Grant County Sheriff’s Office Responds to School Bus Crash SE of Elbow Lake

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 3:30 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office along with Elbow Lake First Responders and the Prairie Ridge Ambulance, responded to a two vehicle accident where a dump truck struck a school bus at the intersection of County Highway 21 and 240th St in Grant County MN.

After the impact, both vehicles ended up in the road ditch.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.  The school bus was carrying approximately 20 students from the West Central Area Schools.  No one on the school bus was injured.

The driver of the dump truck was transported by ambulance to the Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake MN.

The driver was then transported by helicopter to Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND.  The accident is being investigated by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Patrol.
