Republican lawmakers have unveiled a “Parents Bill of Rights.”

The legislation means schools couldn’t withhold information from parents about their child’s wellbeing or education, all instructional materials would have to be available to parents at no cost, and no person could be forced to give their address or contact information at a school board meeting.

State Senator Roger Chamberlain says parents have been ignored, bullied, silenced, and threatened in the last couple of years.

Chamberlain says some people want to treat them as terrorists for simply wanting answers about their children’s education.
