(St. Paul, MN)  —  Minnesota’s high school graduation rate dipped slightly in 2021.  Just over 83 percent of seniors graduated on time last year.

That’s a drop of a half-percent from 2020.  Minnesota Education Commissioner Heather Mueller says the class of 2021 is the first graduating class that experienced a full year impacted by the pandemic.

Black high school students reversed the trend with a one-percent increase overall.

High school seniors who identify as two or more races also posted gains of about one percent during the last school year.
