(St. Paul, MN) — Republican candidate for governor Scott Jensen and running mate Matt Birk are scheduled to unveil their ten-point education plan this afternoon (3:30pm) at the Minnesota State Fair.
They say their plan will empower parents, put teachers and students before bureaucracy, and reward excellence in education. It comes the day after Governor Tim Walz released his “Teacher” ad, which features a video clip of Jensen saying he supports “less money” for public schools and calling them “a black hole.”
Jensen says Minnesota spends on average 13-thousand dollars per pupil and doesn’t have the results to show for it. Walz contends investments in public schools are essential for Minnesota to have a prosperous future.
