(Bloomington, MN) — There are departure ceremonies in Bloomington today (Saturday 3 p-m) for 50 Minnesota National Guard soldiers headed to Poland and Kuwait.
Twenty five members of the 147th Financial Management Support Detachment will provide financial support to U-S and coalition forces in Eastern Europe.
Around 25 soldiers with the 147th Human Resources Company are deploying to the Middle East to ensure each service member that comes into Kuwait is properly accounted for.
Guard officials say this is the first deployment for more than three-quarters of the Minnesota soldiers.
