Republicans have apparently unseated Democrats in two very close Minnesota House races in northeastern Minnesota, based on two publicly-funded recounts that concluded Wednesday.
Final totals depend on the disposition of challenged ballots, but in District 3-A Republican challenger Roger Skraba of Ely leads Democratic incumbent Rob Ecklund of International Falls by 15 votes — the same as election night totals.
In District 3-B, Republican challenger Natalie Zeleznikar from Fredenburg Township is ahead of long-time D-F-L Representative Mary Murphy of Hermantown by 33 votes — two fewer than on election night.
