Stacy Wendt is now the new Artistic Director at the Kaddatz Galleries in Fergus Falls.

Her unique position puts her in charge of educational program, curatorial program, all the exhibitions and retail gallery space.

While discussing her background Stacy mentioned, “I have a background in art, I have both a BFA and an MFA in art. Focusing primarily on drawing and painting, I got those when I was living out in LA, I was out there for 19 years. “

Stacy went on to say that she moved back to Fergus Falls after the pandemic, after many years in Los Angeles, furthering her education and working in different field of art.

She explained what she did while in Los Angeles saying, “Originally I’m from Glenwood Minnesota and then when I was out there after grad school, I was teaching, and part of a couple galleries curating shows and I also managed a business where we taught art classes.”, “family being a big draw moving back, but I was really drawn to Fergus because of the big artistic community. “

Stacy works alongside Nancy XiáoRong Valentine, a fellow artist with a plethora of professional, creative and artistic experience as well.

Nancy is the Executive Director, handling a bit more of the marketing, grant writing, and administrative duties at The Kaddatz.

With the mission of the Kaddatz Galleries being to foster visual arts, education, appreciation and to maintain a gallery that celebrates the work of area artists and honors the legacy of Charles Beck, it is exciting to see everything they do for the art community.

There are currently two upcoming exhibits taking place at The Kaddatz.

In the main gallery the Exhibition titled, “Beautiful Chaos” Naomi Schliesman, and in Studio K the Year of Beck Exhibit called “beginnings” showcasing all Charles Beck’s pre-1960 works.
