Fergus Falls Girls’ Otter Hockey

Fergus Falls Otters claimed the Section 6A Girls Hockey championship with a 2-1 win over the River Lakes Stars in overtime.

Fergus Falls is on a 15-game unbeaten winning streak going into the Class A state Girls Hockey Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Their opponent will be determined Saturday.

Fergus Falls Boys’ Hockey

St. Cloud won against Fergus Falls 4-1.

Otters end the regular season with a 1pm game Saturday in Hutchinson.

The State Nordic Ski Meet

Fergus Falls junior David Ronnevik places 62nd in the field, his time was 29:45.9. Alexandria junior Jaelyn Miller placed 26th with a time of 32:43.6.

Fergus Falls freshman Estee VerSteeg placed 80th with a time of 35:48.6.

Fergus Falls Girls’ Basketball 

Willmar went on to defeat the Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team 64-56 on Thursday night. Fergus Falls will host Perham on Saturday night.

Perham Girls’ Basketball 

Perham girls’ basketball team won 69-49 against the Hawley Nuggets Thursday night. Hawley is playing at DGF next Tuesday and then will host Menahga on Thursday.

Pelican Rapids Girls’ Basketball

Breckenridge Cowgirls beat the Pelican Rapids Vikings with a score of 43-40.

Pelican Rapids hosts Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Tuesday and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday.

Breckenridge hosts Hillcrest on Tuesday and will play in Underwood on Thursday and then Crookson on Friday.

Hillcrest Girls’ Basketball

Maddie Ballweg made it to a 1,000-point milestone, Thursday night and helping lead the Comets to a victory of 71-56 against Battle Lake.

Hillcrest travels to Breckenridge on Tuesday and then finishes their regular season with a home game against Lake Park-Audubon on Thursday.

Battle Lake has a game at Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday night.

Barnesville Boys’ Basketball

Barnesville boys’ basketball team the Trojans beat the Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal Titans 50-18.

The Trojans travel to New York Mills Friday night.

The Henning boys’ basketball team made their 20th win finished the Park Region Conference Championship, 73-36 winning against Verndale.

Underwood girls’ basketball

The Underwood girls’ basketball team won 72-62 against Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday.

Hawley Nuggets won 83-66 at the Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball against the Barnesville Trojans.

Underwood boys’ basketball

The Underwood boys’ basketball team won against the Hancock Owls 68-67.

Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball

The Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball team traveled to Menahga for a Park Region Conference girls’ basketball game on Tuesday and the Braves beat the Wolverines 67-61.

Fergus Falls Otter Nordic Ski Team

The two members, Junior David Ronnevik and freshman Estee VerSteeg of the Otter Nordic Ski Team have qualified for the state meet with their performances at the Section meet this past week. The State meet will be held at Giant’s Ridge on February 16.

Battle Lake girls’ basketball

The Battle Lake girls’ basketball team hosted a non-conference opponent, Sebeka, on Monday. The Battlers won 51-44 against the Trojans.

Pelican Rapids Girls’ Basketball

Pelican Rapids hosted Section 8AA rival Crookston in a girls’ basketball contest on Monday night with the Vikings posting a 61-54 victory over the Pirates.

Breckenridge Boys’ Basketball

Border West won against the Breckenridge Cowboys 89-62

Hillcrest boys’ basketball

The Hillcrest boys’ basketball team won 73-29 against the Ortonville Trojans.

Fergus Falls Otter Bowlers

Fergus Falls Maroon won all three matches Sunday, increasing their Central NW conference lead to two wins over Brainerd, and three wins over Sauk Rapids. Fergus Falls Maroon defeated Sartell, 5-0, in match one, 4-1 win over Perham/Detroit Lakes/St Cloud Apollo in match two and 5-0 win over Sauk Rapids in match three.

M State Men’s basketball

The M State Men’s basketball team won 85-64 against the Yellowjackets on Saturday.
