After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Humane Society of Otter Tail County (HSOTC) is hosting its Annual Spring Fundraising dinner, tonight (April 17th), celebrating second chances for animals in Ottertail county by offering a family-friendly event to support the welfare of local dogs and cats.
The dinner, which takes place from 5-7 pm at the Fergus Falls VFW, aims to raise funds for the medical expenses of animals taken into the shelter in the coming year.
For a minimum donation of $10 per meal, attendees can enjoy a delicious Gobble-Up-Turkey sandwich, coleslaw, chips, a drink, and dessert.
A silent auction featuring a variety of items and a raffle with prizes, including a Litter Robot, Dyson Vacuum, and cash, will add to the excitement of the evening.
Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 each at the shelter and Canine Acres.
In 2022, the HSOTC took in 768 animals, completed 368 surgeries, and administered 1,225 vaccinations.
The average length of stay for a shelter animal was 31 days, resulting in 369 new families created and 177 families reunited.
The event celebrates the achievements made possible by the generous donations of loyal shelter supporters.
As an independent, private non-profit 501(c3) organization, the HSOTC relies on local donations and serves all 62 townships and 19 municipalities of Otter Tail County.
It is not affiliated with any government entity or national organization, operating 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
By attending the Spring fundraising dinner, community members can help ensure a safe haven for lost or abandoned animals entering the shelter doors this year, providing them with a fresh start.
Guests are encouraged to bid generously on silent auction items and learn more about opportunities to help with the planned shelter expansion.
