Pelican Rapids Man Who Died in Accident Identified

At approximately 9:17 Wednesday night, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single motor vehicle accident just north of Pelican Rapids, in the 48000 block of 155^th Ave in Scambler Townships.

Information reported to dispatch was that an adult is believed to be deceased at the scene.

After responders arrived on the scene, it was determined that the driver a 65-year-old Paul Bakken, from rural Pelican Rapids, was deceased.

Bakken was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Pelican Rapids Police Department, and Ringdahl Ambulance.
