Jensen Triumphs in Shot Put and Discus, Zierden Secures Triple Jump Title at Otters’ True Team Meet Alex Jensen emerged victorious in both shot put and discus events, while Shane Zierden claimed the triple jump title on Tuesday as the Fergus Falls boys’ track and field team hosted the Section 8AA True Team Event. The Otters secured ninth place among eleven participating teams.

Fergus Falls Girls Showcase Impressive Performance at True Team Track and Field Meet The Section 8AA Girls True Team Track and Field Meet took place in Fergus Falls on Tuesday, with the Otters finishing in a commendable fifth position out of eleven teams. Head Coach Niki Welde expressed her satisfaction with the team’s effort and results, despite some lingering injuries attributed to a long season of indoor training. The team’s performance was lauded as they rallied and delivered a great performance.

Otter Boys Display Skill in Two CLC Golf Meets The Otter Boys golf team participated in two separate CLC events on Monday and Tuesday, demonstrating their talent in favorable weather conditions and impressive golfing by the team members.

OTC and Pillager Set to Resume Suspended Game on Thursday Ottertail Central was trailing Pillager 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning when the game was interrupted by rain. The match will resume in Pillager on Thursday, May 18, before the regularly scheduled game between the two teams. Pillager managed to score their two runs in the top of the third inning after two outs had been recorded. Elliot Imdieke singled and subsequently scored on a home run by Lucas Hoglin.

Perham and Frazee Game Suspended in the 5th Inning, to Resume Wednesday Perham’s baseball team led Frazee 5-0 in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader on Tuesday when rain caused a suspension. The game is set to resume ahead of the second game on Wednesday, with the latter scheduled for 5:00 pm.

Vikings and Lake Park-Audubon Split Softball Doubleheader Victories The Pelican Rapids softball team divided victories with Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday, with the Raiders claiming the first game 4-3 and the Vikings securing the second game 12-1. Notable hitters in the first game for the Vikings included Claudia Gurath (3-4, R, 2RBI, HR), Zayli Arrow (1-4, RBI), and Sylvia Pesch (1-3, 2R, BB). Pelican Rapids is set to host DGF on Thursday, beginning at 4:00 pm.

MSHSL Approves Boys Volleyball as a Recognized Varsity Sport Starting 2024-25 During the Minnesota State High School League Representative Assembly meeting on Tuesday, bylaw amendments pertaining to Adapted Athletics and Boys Volleyball were approved. Interscholastic Boys Volleyball will be recognized as a varsity sport starting from the 2024-2025 school year.
