(Brooklyn Park, MN) — Boys high school volleyball will become an officially sanctioned sport in Minnesota for the 2024-2025 season.
Jenny Kilkelly of the Minnesota Boys High School Volleyball Association says they’ve pushing for this change since 2018. She says the vote failed at Minnesota State High School League by one vote last year and two votes the previous year before passing Tuesday.
There are nearly two thousand boys in 72 high schools playing club level volleyball. Kilkelly says becoming a sanctioned sport makes it more accessible and affordable and provides kids with a connection to their school.
