In a significant development for Greater Fergus Falls (GFF), CEO NeTia Bauman announced her resignation yesterday, effective the end of June, following nearly five years of dedicated service to the organization. Bauman has chosen to embark on a new professional journey in the economic development industry.
Bauman’s association with GFF dates back to the organization’s inception in 2018, where she initially served as the Executive Assistant and Business Development Coordinator. In 2021, she took the reins as CEO, demonstrating her leadership prowess and commitment to the economic development of the Fergus Falls business community.
During her tenure as CEO, Bauman orchestrated a number of transformative initiatives, including directing site selection efforts, introducing a business coaching program, and launching The Foundry – a novel coworking and entrepreneur center located in downtown Fergus Falls. She is also a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), a credential she earned from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in 2022.
Reflecting on her time at GFF, Bauman expressed her gratitude and optimism for the future. “It has been a true privilege to serve the Fergus Falls business community over these last 5 years,” she said. “I am incredibly grateful to GFF, the City of Fergus Falls, and our business and community leaders for the opportunity to learn, grow, and revitalize our community. I look forward to watching this community continue to flourish.”
GFF’s Board President, Andrew Yaggie, lauded Bauman’s contributions to the organization. “NeTia has played a very important role in our organization since our founding nearly five years ago. It’s been a joy to work alongside her, to watch her grow professionally, and to witness the impact she’s had on the community,” Yaggie stated. “Even though we will miss her at GFF, we are proud of her accomplishments and excited for the wonderful opportunities that lie ahead for her.”
The Board of Directors Executive Committee has already initiated the process to find Bauman’s replacement.
