Local Weekend Events: From Farmers Markets to Fashion Shows
PELICAN RAPIDS, MN – With the summer season in full swing, local events are popping up left and right.
This weekend, residents of Pelican Rapids, Ottertail, Battle Lake, Henning, Fergus Falls, and Perham will have a chance to enjoy a variety of activities, offering something for everyone.
Starting off the weekend, the Pelican Rapids Farmers Market is set to open Friday, June 16, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
This is a great opportunity for locals to support their farmers and pick up fresh produce for their weekend meals.
Friday evening also promises some exciting events.
The Otter, located at 306 N MN Highway 78, Ottertail, is hosting their staple Meat Raffles from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Local businesses, including Carr’s Grocery Store and Amor Pork, provide the meat for the raffle.
For trivia fans, Beach Bums Bar & Eatery in Battle Lake hosts their Weekly Trivia every Friday starting at 8:00 pm.
The event consists of four rounds, including general, visual, and music trivia, with a rotating fourth round.
Saturday, June 17, will kick off early with the Early Explorers at Otter Cove Children’s Museum in Fergus Falls.
This event, running from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, encourages the youngest learners to explore and play. Older siblings are welcome as long as they play gently.
In Fergus Falls, Antique, Classic and Special Interest automobiles will be parked in the police department parking lot on Washington Ave, City Hall parking lot and along the street Tomorrow, from 9:00 am – noon tomorrow, for what is being called “Cops, Coffee and Cars“.
There will not be any signage, and people can bring their classic cars to the event as well if they choose to show them off.
The Henning City Wide Garage Sales are scheduled for Saturday as well.
This day-long event is a fantastic opportunity to find treasures and get some shopping done.
Meanwhile, in the city of Perham, the City Wide Rummage Sales will also be taking place as part of their Turtle Fest celebration.
For foodies and fresh produce enthusiasts, the Battle Lake Farmers Market will open from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday.
In the afternoon, locals can join the Bingo session at Billy’s Corner Bar in Vergas from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
For those into fashion, the Red Brick Boutique in Ottertail is hosting a Fashion Show from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The theme of the show is ‘Hopefully somewhere dreamy,’ and tickets start at $15.
Capping off Saturday night, Willy T’s at Thumper Pond Resort in Ottertail will have live music from Rachael Ianiro from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
With such a range of activities, the weekend promises to be a vibrant and eventful one for residents of these Minnesota towns.
