According to a release from the Pelican Rapids Police Department, on Monday, the Pelican Rapids Police Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Pelican Rapids Ambulance responded to the report of an unresponsive 3-year-old female at a residence in Pelican Rapids.
Life Saving measures were attempted and the child was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes were the child was later pronounced dead. A 28-year-old female was arrested in connection with the death and is being held in the Otter Tail County Jail waiting formal charges.
The Pelican Rapids Police Department stated that there is no threat to the public at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by the Pelican Rapids Police Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
