At approximately 10:36 Monday morning, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a third hand call that a male had hurt a woman and she was dead.
This incident occurred at a residence in the Big Pine Lake area east of the city of Perham.
Multiple agencies responded to include the Otter Tail County SWAT Team.
Area residents were notified and those affected were evacuated.
77-year-old Jean Harriette Mart, was found deceased and 79-year-old Paul Edward Mart of rural Perham was taken in to custody.
Formal charges to be filed in Otter Tail County Court.
The Sheriff’s Office believes it to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office is the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Perham Police, MN DNR and Perham Ambulance.
