(St. Paul, MN) — An annual report from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) shows an eight-point-six-percent decline in violent crime last year.
Violent crimes were down nearly 13 percent in greater Minnesota and six-point-nine percent in the seven-county Twin Cities metro.
The B-C-A says the 182 murders in 2022 is a nine-and-a-half percent decrease from 201 killings in 2021.
Car-jackings fell by 23 percent in Minnesota last year, but vehicle thefts rose 12-point-nine percent to 16-thousand-743 which is the highest number of stolen vehicles since 2001.
