On Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at approximately 07:38 pm the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a homeowner in the 30000 block of 380th St. in rural Star Lake Township.
The homeowners had returned, observed smoke and an orange glow coming from their residence. It was determined the residence was on fire.
The Dent Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
There were no injuries reported, however two dogs perished in the fire.
The home is believed to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dent Fire Department, the Vergas Fire Department, the Pelican Rapids Fire Department, Ringdahl Ambulance, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
