This week, Monica Metz from Otter Tail County was chosen as the recipient of the 2023 Scholarship from the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association.
Monica was granted one of the 18 scholarships available.
Recipients of the scholarship are chosen for their qualifications and outstanding academic achievements.
It’s worth mentioning that there was a notable increase in scholarship applications in 2023.
“As a previous scholarship winner when I was attending college, I understand what a positive impact it is to receive the scholarship. Congratulations Monica!” Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons said in a Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association social media post.
