Otter Girls Hockey Team Is Going Back to State!

Otter Girls hockey team Secure Return to State with Commanding 5-1 Victory over Northern Lakes on Tuesday night in the Section 6A championship match.

 

The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team clinched their ticket back to the state championship.

Thee Otters slapped 28 Shots to the Northern Lakes net, catching a pair of goals in the first two periods and goal in the third.

At 9:03 into the first period, Fergus Falls secured their first goal as Brook Zierden capitalized on a pass from Hannah Bye.

Expanding their lead, the Otters notched a 2-0 advantage at 15:54 with a short-handed, unassisted goal by Hannah Johnson.

The momentum continued into the second period, with Maggie Greenagel netting an unassisted goal at 3:48, extending Fergus Falls’ lead to 3-0.

Northern Lakes’ only goal was scored by Ava Merta, with an assists from Jenna Stoerzinger and Jayden Wodarz.

A second goal by Hannah Johnson came at 15:45 with assists by Averie Tonneson and Maddie Brimhall in the game.

Johnson finished the hat trick at 5:36 in the third, with an assist by McKenzie Sjolie.
