At approximately 12:45 in the afternoon, emergency responders were called to action as flames engulfed the kitchen area, prompting a swift but arduous battle to contain the blaze.

Despite the coordinated efforts of the Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office, Rothsay Fire Department, Foxhome Fire Department, Fergus Falls Fire Department, and Breckenridge Fire Department, the structural damage, particularly to the roof, is extensive, and seems at this time to be a total loss.
A thorough assessment of the property’s condition is still underway but the owners, Jill and Jeff DeFries say the building itself is no longer usable, along with almost everything inside (tables, chairs, bar, appliances, etc.).
