Fergus Falls, MN (KFGO) – Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner says a man arrested for theft, and drugs in Otter Tail County, Minnesota has admitted to thefts in Cass and Clay Counties over several weeks in February and early March.

Wyatt Johnson, 33, of Hankinson, North Dakota was arrested by Fergus Falls police and Otter Tail County deputies after a break-in at Harvest States French Elevator, west of Fergus Falls, on March 2nd.

Authorities say Johnson called after the break-in and said he wanted to turn himself in.

He also told them he should not have broken into the elevator.

Jahner says elevators in Cass County were also hit in Arthur, Page, and Ayr.

He says, through investigation by his office and with help from the public, they were able to identify the suspect.

That investigation is still ongoing, but Jahner says his investigators have received a confession from Johnson.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says during their investigation, Johnson admitted he had burglarized an elevator in Georgetown, north of Moorhead.

Charges have not yet been filed in Cass and Clay Counties.

Johnson has been charged with two felony counts, burglary and drug possession in Minnesota.
