At around 3:30 Sunday afternoon (April 21st), the Minnesota State Patrol and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash in Holmes City, around 10 minutes southwest of Alexandria.
62-year-old Loren Schwarzwalter of Battle Lake was heading south on Highway 114, when he and his vehicle ran off the road and crashed into the ditch.
Schwarzwalter was brought to Alexandria Hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the official report, it is unknown if he was using his seat belt or if alcohol was involved.
