Fergus Falls, MN – At 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon (April 24th), FM Bank hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for their new building location in downtown Fergus Falls, which is set to house multiple businesses upon opening.

The event kicked off with some words from Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Workman, President of the Fergus Falls FM Bank Scott Debrito, as well as a few others.

Everyone then shifted to the dig site, where the ground breaking commenced.

The new facility will not only house FM Bank, it will also be the new home of Cally’s Cafe & Coffee, which Debrito expects will help increase the presence of people in the bank.

He said, “It will probably be a little bit busier with a restaurant on the main floor, which is good! The personal traffic in banks has really gone downhill with the use of technology. So it’ll be nice to have more activity in the bank lobby.”

It was reported in January that Cally’s Cafe & Coffee would be expanding its business in the new facility with the addition of a drive-thru and outdoor seating near the river.

Debrito also gave an update on the status of a possible tenant in the office space on the second floor, saying, “We actually in the last week have come to a verbal agreement with a tenant for that office space. I’m not ready to make that public yet. I’ll wait for that tenant, for their go-ahead before we make that public on who’s going to move in there, but we have come to an agreement with someone.”

The new facility is expected to open in the summer of 2025.
