On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons had the privilege of bestowing three Life Saving awards.
These honors were conferred upon Lester Kiehl, Bobby Schempp, and Trevor Moe in recognition of their selfless and courageous intervention on February 1, 2024.
Their swift response during a house fire rescued two individuals, Rebecca and Dennis Campbell, who were trapped inside.
Without the decisive actions of Lester Kiehl, Bobby Schempp, and Trevor Moe, the survival of Rebecca and Dennis Campbell would have been uncertain.
Additionally, Pelican Rapids Fire Chief Shad Hanson presented Life Saving awards on behalf of the Pelican Rapids Fire Department, acknowledging the exemplary efforts of these individuals.
