Fergus Falls, MN – The results of today’s (May 14th) special election are in, and the Fergus Falls school bond to authorize the construction of a new 3rd through 5th grade elementary school has failed to pass.

According to Fergus Falls School District HR Director Elaine Jahnke, the unofficial total of votes was 1,341 in favor, and 2,262 against the referendum.

She says while disappointed by the outcome, the district remains committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all students within the existing facilities.

Superintendent Jeff Drake, emphasized the district’s ongoing dedication to addressing the needs of its students.

“We understand and respect the decision made by the community regarding the school bond measure,” said Superintendent Drake. “Although the proposal was not approved this time, we will continue to work diligently to ensure that our students receive a high-quality education in safe and nurturing environments.”
