Fergus Falls, MN – The Fergus Falls YMCA has officially merged with the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties, and the new organization has taken the name YMCA of the Northern Sky.

The YMCA revealed plans for the merger earlier this year, with the aim to foster greater collaboration and resource-sharing while maintaining the unique identity of each location.

Addressing key questions from members, YMCA officials clarified that the merger entails the legal consolidation of the Fergus Falls YMCA with other YMCAs, operating under one recognized 501(c)3 organization.

The merged entity is integrating resources, staff, and finances to streamline operations and better serve the community.

The combined organization encompasses three full-service membership facilities located in Fargo, ND, and Fergus Falls, MN, providing members with expanded access to amenities and programs across both regions.

In response to concerns about membership privileges, the YMCA assured members that they would enjoy enhanced benefits, including access to facilities and programs at both Fargo and Fergus Falls locations.

YMCA representatives have stated that there are no immediate plans for fee increases.

Membership and program rates are reviewed annually by staff and the board, ensuring affordability while sustaining operational needs.

The YMCA of the Northern Sky has emphasized its commitment to preserving the unique characteristics and community focus of each branch.

Despite the merger, individual locations will maintain their distinct identities and continue serving and strengthening their respective communities.
