Fergus Falls, MN – Due to the high current flow on the river, the Fergus Falls Noon Rotary Club is making a change to the annual Duck Derby that’s part of Thursday’s Shop Move ‘n Groove (July 11th).
The club is concerned for the safety of the ducks and the Rotarians who retrieve them from the river.
As a measure of safety and extra precaution, they are going to hold a random duck drawing at the Spies Pavillion during Shop, Move & Groove instead of releasing the ducks into the river at the Lincoln Ave Bridge.
Katie Johnson, the President of the Fergus Falls Noon Rotary Club, says, “We know many people enjoy watching the ducks race on the river and want to make sure they know about the change in plans and venue. We invite the public to come & see the drawing live at 6 at Spies Pavillion and want to thank all the Duck Derby enthusiasts who adopted ducks in support of local Rotary projects!”
