Fergus Falls, MN – National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 6th in Fergus Falls.

The City invites everyone to join in hosting a block party – or attending one this summer.

“Our objective is to be inclusive and allow our citizens an opportunity to engage in conversation with not only their neighbors but also with members from the Fergus Falls Police Department and Fergus Falls Fire Department” said Lieutenant Connor West, Fergus Falls Police Department. “The interest in block parties has grown steadily since the first one in Fergus Falls in 2018.”

“Hosting a block party can be fun – and easy,” said West.

All it takes is a couple neighbors willing to serve as block party captains.

To learn more or sign up to host a block party, visit the city’s website.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the City of Fergus Falls.

This year is the 40th anniversary of National Night Out with more than 400 communities and two million neighbors across the country expected to participate.

National Night Out is designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships and heighten crime and drug awareness.

From 4 PM to 8 PM on August 6, 2024, residents in neighborhoods throughout Fergus Falls and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend an evening outside with neighbors.

It is an opportunity to be creative, have fun and CELEBRATE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
