Pelican Rapids, MN – The identity of the driver and victim of the fatal crash near Pelican Lake last week has been released.
At around 8:53 last Wednesday evening (September 4th), the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Highway 20 in rural Dunn Township, near Pelican Lake. When first responders arrived, life saving measures were performed, but were unsuccessful. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, 50-year-old Christopher Berger of Barnesville was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pelican Rapids Police Department, Pelican Rapids Ambulance, the Pelican Rapids Fire Department, Life Link, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Barnesville PD, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
