By Dave Bishop Sep 16, 2024 | 11:57 AM

The Gathering at the River, a multi-cultural potluck will take place from six to eight tonight (Monday 9-16) at Spies Park.  This is a chance for the community to come together and experience food from around the world.  Some of the featured cuisine will be prepaired by new Fergus Falls residents from Afghanistan.

Organizers invite attendees to bring their own favorite ethnic food, everything from your grandma’s famous hot dish, to tamales, egg rolls, of fresh spring rolls.

Rebecca Peterson from West Central Initiative, said about the event, “There’s the great spiritual called, “Let us gather by the river.” I love it so, I just love the whole idea of people coming together in fellowship and camaraderie around food and music by the river. What could be better?”

Music will feature local artists, Dave Strom and Wally Warhol. This event is for everyone so meet your neighbors, share good food learn about cultures different from your own.

The Gathering at the River is proudly hosted by Fergus Falls Sunrise Rotary, Fergus Falls Noon Rotary, and friends and allies.  Also, sponsored in part by West Central Initiative a “Welcoming Week” supporter.

Dinnerware, cups, and beverages will be provided.
