Toad Lake, MN – At around 3:40 Thursday afternoon (October 3rd), the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a crash between a civilian passenger car and a Becker County squad truck near Toad Lake Township, east of Detroit Lakes.
According to officials, both vehicles were heading west on Highway 34 near mile marker 54 when they collided. The driver of the passenger vehicle, 82-year-old Richard West Blaine of Fargo, was uninjured. His passenger, 83-year-old Carolyn Elizabeth Blaine, was transported to an Essentia emergency room for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the Becker County squad truck, Becker County Deputy Nicholas Thomas Daniel and Callaway Police Chief Caleb Jesse Korb, were both uninjured.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
