No Injuries Following Collision Between a Train and a Passenger Vehicle Near Vergas

Vergas, MN – At around 6:20 Friday evening (October 4th), Otter Tail County Dispatch received a call of a collision between a train and a passenger vehicle at a private driveway near the intersection of County Highway 17 and Candor Hall Road, north of Vergas.

Upon arrival, the driver of the passenger vehicle, 69-year-old Frank Vana of Vergas, was found to be uninjured and his vehicle sustained minor damage. The locomotives involved, owned by Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway, also sustained minor damage. No one aboard the locomotives was injured.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident, which is currently under investigation by the Canadian Pacific Railway Police Department.
