Vining, MN – At around 11:45 Monday morning (October 14th), the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a farm accident in Folden Township, southeast of Vining.
According to officials, 76-year-old Daryl Baardsen was working on and attempting to pull a tractor with a pickup when an unknown accident occurred, resulting in the tractor driving over him and pinning him underneath. Baardsen was extricated from underneath the tractor with crushing injuries and was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo via air ambulance. Officials say he was conscious and alert at the time of transport.
The Sherriff’s Office was assisted by Vining Rescue, Henning Ambulance, Ringdahl Ambulance, Henning Police Department, and Life Link III.
