Fergus Falls, MN – Last Thursday (October 10th), Corey Keisler and Kyle Krull received their sentences after being found guilty of Arson in Otter Tail County Court in August.

According to court documents, Fergus Falls first responders responded to a structure fire at 1509 West Fir Avenue at around 10:49 in the morning on March 23rd, 2022. The residence was found to be empty, but there was a fire as well as smoke within. Law enforcement learned that Keisler and Krull had been living at the residence, but were being evicted at 11 that morning.

The State Fire Marshall indicated that there were five areas in the dwelling with attempted ignitions. One of the five areas was confirmed to be ignited, with a “trailer” (combustible) set as a fuse. The area that ignited contained a pop can which returned with a positive reading for flammable gas. There was also a can of plumber’s paste that was affixed to a return vent at the successful ignition site with the previously mentioned trailer.

There were burns on cabinets, the wall, and carpet area, as well as light smoke damage throughout the house.

Keisler was charged with one count of 1st Degree Arson and one count of Aiding and Abetting to 1st Degree Arson. Krull was charged with one count of 1st Degree Arson.

On August 13th and 14th, 2024, two years after the incident, Keisler and Krull finally faced a jury, who found them both guilty of all charges.

On October 10th, Keisler was sentenced to 48 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, and Krull was sentenced to 41 months at the same facility. The duo must also pay $35,342.82 in restitution.
