Moorhead, MN (KFGO) – Moorhead Area Public Schools says it took immediate action in response to a notification from the Moorhead Police Department regarding a potential threat involving a student at the Moorhead High School Career Academy on Monday morning.
A statement from the district says that while the student was not initially present on campus, school staff remained vigilant and on alert. Upon the student’s arrival, the student was immediately apprehended at approximately 10:25 a.m. It was confirmed that the individual was in possession of a firearm. Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of school staff and law enforcement, the situation was promptly resolved without incident.
“We are grateful for the rapid response and collaboration between our staff and law enforcement,” said Superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak. “The safety, security and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities, and we are proud of the systems and protocols in place to address situations like this effectively.”
