Mahnomen, MN – A northwest Minnesota man is jailed for the alleged assault of his three-month-old son last month in Mahnomen County.
The sheriff’s office received a report on December 23rd that the infant was taken to the Mahnomen Health Center for reportedly not breathing. Hospital staff determined the boy suffered from non-accidental trauma or “shaken baby syndrome.”
Deputies say a thorough investigation led to the arrest of the infant’s 31-year-old father Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree assault and domestic assault. The boy remains hospitalized in stable condition.
