Senator Mitchell Requests Burglary Trial Happen After 2025 Legislative Session

Detroit Lakes, MN – Senator Nicole Mitchell of Woodbury requests her trial happen after this year’s legislative session.

Mitchell is charged with first-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into her stepmother’s home in Detroit Lakes in April.

She filed a motion Friday asking that the trial be delayed until “the first available date after May 19th.”

Governor Tim Walz and officials on both sides have called for her to resign.
