Fergus Falls, MN – A man originally from Crow Wing County was arrested after causing criminal damage at Lake Region Hospital and making numerous threatening statements.

According to court documents, the Fergus Falls Police Department responded to the hospital on Thursday morning (January 23rd) to a report of a disturbance in the emergency room. Upon arrival, officers met with hospital staff.

The patient, identified as 19-year-old Logan Anthony Seitz, had been brought to their care the day prior from Northstar Behavioral Hospital, after he had expressed his intent to become a mass murderer on his birthday, Saturday, January 25th. According to Lake Region staff, Seitz had been provided with a phone to call his case manager in Crow Wing County. During the conversation, Seitz became upset, smashed the $1,300 phone, and became disruptive and disorderly in the emergency room.

Police officers approached Seitz and informed him he was under arrest. After he was placed under arrest, Seitz told officers that when he was on the phone with his case manager, he told them he was going to kill them by slitting their throat.

Officials spoke with the case manager, who confirmed that Seitz had began making comments about becoming a mass murderer while at Northstar. He claimed he had stolen some knives from the Dollar Tree and “was going to go out in a blaze of glory on his birthday.”

Seitz is currently in custody at the Otter Tail County Detention Facility. He made his first court appearance on Friday and has been charged with one felony count of Threats of Violence, one felony count of Criminal Damage to Property, and one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct.
