Jennifer Vold and Michel Johnson (OTCDF)
Fergus Falls, MN – A couple has been arrested in connection with the theft of five trailers from a home in Fergus Falls.
According to court documents, the Fergus Falls Police Department received a report of theft of five trailers and a camper from a house in the 500 block of East Washington Avenue on January 4th. The trailers and camper were owned by IRoof Minnesota, a roofing company based out of St. Paul.
Police located one of the trailers near Dairy Queen on East Vernon Avenue and two more behind the Westridge Mall. Security footage retrieved from Dairy Queen showed a Maroon SUV place the stolen trailer in the parking lot on December 17th. Alex Viking Towing also had security footage showing the SUV bringing the trailer out of the storage lot that same day, as well as a U-HaulĀ pulling the same trailer on December 23rd. The U-Haul was followed by a black sedan.
Police contacted U-Haul and learned the vehicle was rented by 54-year-old Michael Gene Johnson of Fergus Falls. They also learned that the black sedan matched a vehicle owned by Johnson’s partner, 33-year-old Jennifer Marie Vold. A review of law enforcement activity showed an officer previously interacted with Vold and another man near where the trailers had been found behind the mall.
In the following days, another stolen trailer was discovered in West Fargo and the camper was found in Fargo. Local law enforcement connected the trailer and camper to the other man seen with Vold.
On January 10th, police located the Maroon SUV that had been seen pulling a stolen trailer in front of Johnson and Vold’s residence. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and detained the couple on January 23rd. During the search, officers found several stolen items and suspected methamphetamine. A pill bottle and a piece of identification for Vold was seen near the suspected meth.
Police spoke with Vold and informed her that she was being detained. She initially blamed the stolen items on other people before stating, “F**k it, I stole the trailers and the s**t in the house.” Vold then attempted to walk away from the officers, who reminded her that she was not free to leave. She continued to push past officers and was assisted to the ground. Vold stated she was going to kill herself and began banging her head into the ground. She continued to resist attempts to restrain her, but police eventually secured her in a wheelchair.
Johnson and Vold made their first court appearance on Thursday (January 30th) and were charged with six felony accounts of Receiving Stolen Property (one for each trailer and the camper). Vold has also been charged with Obstruction of the Legal Process and 5th Degree Possession of Drugs. The other man associated with the stolen property found in Fargo and West Fargo has not been charged at this time.
