Fergus Falls, MN – The Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has been awarded over $35,000 to help cover wages for youth interns working in high-demand career fields in 2025.

The $35,556 comes from the Future Ready Workforce Grant, a program funded by the Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Minnesota Chamber Foundation. The grant program supports businesses that offer paid internships in fields such as nursing, commercial driver’s license (CDL), manufacturing, automotive, construction, maintenance, and other in-demand industries.

“Our goal is to amplify youth work experiences in the area and encourage students to pursue high-paying, in-demand careers,” said Lisa Workman, Chamber President.

In 2024, a similar grant helped 66 youth interns gain real-world experience at 24 local businesses, with funds distributed as wage reimbursements.

“We are honored to help reinforce the importance of these job experiences for students in our community,” Workman added.

Businesses interested in applying for the 2025 internship grant will find a business registration form on the Chamber’s website, in the Featured Event section on the home page.
